Satellite imagery of the naval base at Severomorsk showed several capital warships moored inside the naval base. The vessels were identified as the Kirov class battlecruiser Pyotr Veliky, Slava class cruiser Marshal Ustinov and the Sovremenny class destroyer Marshal Ushakov

Kirov class cruiser Pyotr Veliky conducted naval exercises at the Barents Sea, near the coast of the Kola Peninsula. The vessel interacted with nuclear submarines and maritime patrol aircraft during the exercise. The crew of the nuclear powered battle cruiser also trained their skills in small arms fire by firing at targets set up on the helideck.

The Kirov class nuclear powered battlecruiser Pyotr Veliky is reported in the Bartens Sea conducting combat exercises. The cruiser first conducted an anti-submarine exercise followed by aerial exercises which saw the cruiser operating together with Ka-27 helicopters and performing flight deck operations on the helideck. Radio communication with an Il-38 maritime patrol aircraft was also established during this exercise.

The nuclear powered Kirov class battlecruiser Pyotr Veliky is reported absent from its mooring at Severodmorsk, indicating that the warship has set sail to sea at some point after October 21st. No exact timestamp for its departure was reported.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Kirov class nuclear powered battlecruiser Pyotr Velikiy has entered the Barents Sea and will conduct air defense and anti-submarine exercises in the coming days. While entering the Barents Sea, the battlecruiser tested its abality to detect and track air targets. A Il-38 maritime patrol aircraft provided assistance by playing the role of the aerial target.

The ships were identified as Kirov class battlecruiser Pytor Veliky, Slava class cruiser Marshal Ustinov, Sovremenny class destroyer Admiral Ushakov and Ivan Grenn class landing vessel Ivan Grenn. Two Udaloy class destroyers were observed as well though their identity could not be established.
