The 247th Guards Air Assault Regiment is a subordinate regiment of the Russian Airborne Troops. It is subordinate to the 7th Guards Mountain Air Assault Division.

It gained the title 'Caucasian Cossack', even though it is not composed of all Cossacks. This unit was involved in the First Chechen War, the Dagestan War, the Second Chechen War, the Russo-Georgian War, the Donbas War, and the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

In December 2021, the unit was deployed to Crimea. It took part in the illegal invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 where its commander Guard Colonel Konstantin Zizevsky was killed in action in February 2022.

This regiment was present in Bucha.

On 9 September 2022, multiple news agencies reported the complete destruction and annihilation of the unit during the Ukrainian counter attacks in Kherson.
